Telephone Socket — Series 03
Telephone Socket — Series 03 — A wiring range faced in real 304 stainless — the visible plate is a thin sheet of polished steel bonded to the rocker carrier, giving the wall a hard, cold, engineering-shop finish that the sprayed-metallic PC alternatives cannot fake.
This SKU is the RJ-11 telephone outlet in Series 03.
Product Overview
This SKU is the RJ-11 telephone outlet in Series 03. It shares the series design language and mounting standard of Stainless-Steel Faced Wiring Series 03 (Q Series).
There is a difference between a wall plate painted to look like metal and one that actually is metal, and it shows up under raking light. Series 03 is faced with a genuine 304 stainless sheet — not a paint, not a hydro-graphic film, not a metallised polymer — bonded to the fire-retardant carrier that holds the rocker mechanism. Slide a hand across the plate and it reads cold; put a downlight above it and the reflection stays disciplined rather than plastic-yellow. The functional coverage is drawn to full-house depth so the finish does not force compromises. Lighting control runs from a 1-gang rocker up through 2G, 3G and 4G for scene positions on hallway and living-room banks. The socket family carries the 13A UK single and 13A UK twin outlets with the shuttered live-neutral gate that stops a paperclip reaching the contacts, a dedicated 20A double-pole isolator for water-heater duty, and the 45A double-pole appliance switch for cooker and shower circuits. The multi-standard 3-pin socket takes UK, EU and US plug geometries interchangeably, available as single, twin, and twin + USB variants for bedside and worktop points. A dedicated multi-outlet five-pin socket exists in a lit and an unlit version. Data positions are covered by a telephone RJ-11 outlet, a coaxial TV socket, and a twin-satellite outlet for the villa builds that still specify separate satellite feeds. Two details reward closer inspection. First, the stainless face is thick enough (0.5 mm) to hold its own against a screwdriver knock at install, so the plate goes onto the wall without a hair-line scratch showing. Second, because stainless does not have to hide its edges, the bezel geometry is deliberately squared rather than radiused — the plate reads architectural, not domestic. The reason to specify Series 03 is not a spec sheet, it is the material story. When the rest of the interior is stainless steel splashback, stainless kitchen trim or a metal-clad extraction hood, the switch plate has no reason to step out of that family.
